Supreme!

I RARELY give out 5's and 10's... but this song absolutely deserves it!

As i was listening to it, every emotion I've ever felt, from sadness to joy, contemplation to agony, every feeling welled up inside, it really made me think about my life and the lives of others around me. This one piano solo is unlike anything I've ever heard. It's so subtle yet so profound. Bravo Maestro, Bravo!

JulezJLB responds:

Wow, thanks for the review. I plan on orchestrating this for a full orchestra soon, add some more themes, etc. Need to finish up some current orchestrations though.

I also listened to some of your submissions and I really like your work, "Death Becomes Us All" in particular.

Well

I gave you a 3/5 and a 5/10 because:

1: It's nice, repetitive but nice.
2: I've played guitar since i was 5 so, 16 years now it's been since i picked up my first guitar and pretty much the only thing i really have to say about the way you've played this song is that there are some parts where you need to get your rhythm down in your fingers, I don't know how long you've played and it doesn't concern me, but, (some advice) try to time your picking evenly, you do good on slowing down and speeding up, but once you're in the motions of playing fast you seem to get over excited (i dealt with this problem too starting out). a little heavy on the low E string there around the 5:00 mark but thats fine, maybe that's what you were going for.

Try to get a hook or a chorus in there somewhere, perfect your timing and change stuff up a little with your chords as the song progresses, and you could be a big shot!

Overall, good feel to the music and good job performing it!

If it doesn't concern you how long I've played, then why did you find it necessary to explain to me how long you've played? I appreciate the feedback. But next time, keep it to the point.

3/5 - 6/10

Hi, I would like to say first of all, the reason i gave the scores i gave are because here on newgrounds, originallity is key, and not saying this isn't original to you, but i've personally heard themes like this a thousand times over on here, but it is good.

Second, i gave you a 6/10 because the song does sound a little reppetitive, and i do know it is hard to get something flowing with different sounds (and make it sound good) so i didnt drop it below a 6, otherwise i would have given a 4.

All in all, a good piece, just work on ironing out some of the repitition and you'll do fine!

snake5creator responds:

Could you please show me some of those themes?

Disgustingly Hideous

ugh... you have no taste, no skills, and just nothing that leads me to believe you are musically inclined at all.

0/10 and 0/5
get outta here with that crap.

Broken-Needle responds:

ROFL u saying that so Nadi wouldn't kill himself? don't worry I'll talk 2 him=) you're truly a good friend sir=D

A review is a review

No matter how you look at it.

Well, a very interesting piece by whom I'm sure is a very interesting person, but...

To be completely honest, it's a little too slow for Jazz even as a ballad.
Try speeding up along the way somewhere and changing it from a waltz to a basic 4/4 beat, then back to a slightly Allegretto waltz, giving the song as a whole a little "Kick".

As Is I'd give it a 3/5 - 6/10
But!
I would love to hear it over if you decide to tinker with the song!

J-qb responds:

Thanks, I cant really agree with the a review is a review part, as I think there is indeed a difference between a helpfull and a unhelpfull review.
Id much rather have a reviewer such as you than someone who just 10s it without reason... Thanks for that!
Ill be sure to do a little fiddling with it, although I dont agree on it being to slow for jazz. However, it certainly could use some more dynamics

Too Short = Repetitive, but it's original.

Hey there ravewarrior69, Just take this as some constructive criticism, that way you will do better on your next song.

1.) I can understand putting the drums in with the piano, and in all honesty, it's a sick idea, (I do the same thing with my music.) But it really would have helped the song if the drums had a different beat every now and then, say, first 4/4th's one beat, then the next 4/4th's a slightly different beat, then the third 4/4th's a completely new beat, then the last 4/4th's the original beat with some symbol crashes added to it somewhere.
2.) Same thing with the piano, maybe go to a different octave or something somewhere along the line.
3.) As for what it could be missing... I noticed you have some strings in the background, very hard to discern what they could have been because they were so quiet, but if you want my opinion, some trill would have done wonders. maybe even some brass.
4.) Again, just some constructive criticism.

All in all, 9/10 and 4/5 for effort and originality.
Good Work!
